 Call For Artists

Imagine a space that illustrates our connectivity, through shared roots.

How would you express your connection to your ancestral roots? Would you paint us a picture, write us a poem,or sing us a song?  Could you fuse a medium from people of the past, such as earth crafts, ceremonial tools, beaded garments, instruments, or tribal dance, with a modern technique, such as sublimation printing on fabric, synthesized sounds, kinetic sculpture or robotic engineering?

Now, let us invite you to join with like minded artists, from a mixed group of backgrounds to come together in space.  Let us find similarities and differences  in each other's  roots, aesthetic  expressions, and preferred mediums.  Maybe a musician can help you tell your story, and write an electronic dance rhythm  to accompany your tribal dance.  Maybe a  Video mapping artist can bring your paintings to life, and fill a room of your dreamscapes from a bygone era.

Join us to bring this vision to reality.  Submit  your ideas to us, explaining how you would like to express your connection to your roots, what medium you would like to use, and what kind of space you would like to take up.  We will connect like-minded artists to collaborate, and allow some to curate an environment where we express our differences through connection.

RFP (request for proposal)

If you are interested, please reach out to Kate Maranville-Hiser at evolvingstardustllc@gmail.com  Selected artists will be invited to our facebook group to meet fellow like-minded artists to help refine our collective ideas.  An RFP form will be made available from AUG 1- AUG 15.  The final chance to fill out the RFP will be midnight on AUG 15.

INSPIRATION & VISION

✦ 1. The Ancient Tribal Past – Ground Floor
Step into the origins of human expression in The Ancient Tribal Past, an immersive gallery space celebrating ancestral wisdom, indigenous craft, and the roots of storytelling. This room is designed as a modern-day cultural sanctum, where tradition meets technology in an interactive showcase of global tribal heritage.
Features:
● Cave-like environment with textured walls evoking stone, earth, and organic forms
● Video mapping and projection bring ancient art to life—illuminating masks, totems, weavings, and sculptures with light, motion, and sound
● Augmented reality interfaces allow visitors to explore the meaning, technique, and symbology behind tribal works
● Exhibits include interactive instruments, ceremonial garments, and reimagined tools—crafted with traditional materials but enhanced with digital layering
● Each piece reveals how cultural traditions carry encoded knowledge about the natural world, community, and spirit
This space anchors the Illuminarium in collective memory and cultural depth, reminding us that before the future is built, the past must be honored.
✦ 2. The Quantum Future – Upper Floor
Ascend into The Quantum Future, a dazzling, mind-expanding exploration of physics, time, and possibility. This top-floor installation is a multisensory voyage through the fabric of reality, where science and imagination converge.
Features:
● A gallery of futuristic sculptures, holograms, and light installations inspired by quantum mechanics, string theory, dark matter, and multidimensional space
● Wall art fuses fractal patterns, circuit boards, and mathematical symbols, pulsing with responsive LED networks
● Interactive experiences allow visitors to manipulate light fields, probability simulations, and particle behavior via gesture or voice
● Sonic environments and spatial sound design mimic black holes, wormholes, and quantum tunneling
● Immersive projection domes and mirror tunnels suggest the infinity of the universe and the microcosmic nature of the self
Here, the exhibit asks: What happens when we abandon linear thinking and embrace the probabilistic universe?
✦ Connecting the Realms: The Evolution Shaft
Between these two realms lies the Elevator Shaft of Evolution—a vertical passage through time and transformation.
● This glass-walled elevator acts as an evolving artwork in itself: the interior walls shift from primitive cave paintings, charcoal handprints, and ancient symbology at the base…
● …to hieroglyphs, architectural forms, blueprints, and eventually digital code, circuit diagrams, and mathematical formulas as visitors ascend
● As the elevator rises, ambient sound and shifting lights reflect the developmental leap of human consciousness—from survival to speculation, myth to math, tradition to transcendence
Together, these two core exhibits form the spiritual and intellectual backbone of the Illuminarium: Grounded in the ancient, reaching toward the quantum—always connected, always evolving.

The Heart of the Illuminarium: The Living Tree of Unification

At the core of the Illuminarium stands a monumental interactive art installation: The Living Tree of Unification. This towering, sculptural centerpiece rises from the ground floor and extends upward through the atrium, reaching the second and third levels—a vertical symbol of growth, connection, and shared futures.

A Tree Like No Other:
● Hollow Trunk & Performance Stage: The tree’s interior forms a hidden, integrated stage with a subtle riser. Concealed lighting and projection systems illuminate performers—be it musicians, DJs, or speakers—while preserving the organic illusion of the sculpture.
● AI Oracle: When not in use for live events, the stage transforms into a mystical focal point featuring an AI-driven holographic “Oracle”. This interactive guide shares stories, answers visitor questions, and offers insight into the installations, artists, and guiding philosophy of the Illuminarium.
● Branches of Light & Connection: The tree's bark and limbs are embedded with animated LED light channels, pulsing rhythmically from deep roots at the base to the furthest branches above. This ever-shifting illumination symbolizes the energy of collaboration and cultural ancestry flowing upward toward new possibilities.
● Suspended Exploration Platforms: Branches support floating platforms on the upper floors, allowing visitors to climb into and among the canopy, offering new vantage points and immersive interactions.
● Ceiling Kaleidoscope Installation: Above the tree’s crown, the atrium’s ceiling becomes a cosmic canvas—featuring a kaleidoscopic array of projections, LED lights, and colored acrylic dichroic panels. As light passes through, it refracts and dances across the space, creating a mesmerizing, ever-changing environment.

Symbolism:
The Living Tree is more than a sculpture—it is the hub of the Illuminarium, both practically and symbolically. It tells the story of unification through diversity, representing how individual heritages, when intertwined, form a powerful shared future. It is where stories converge, energy flows, and transformation begins.
